Topshop sales assistant Bethan swears by haemorrhoid cream to keep eye bags at bay
Britain’s Next Top model contestant Bethan Sowerby has revealed her top beauty secret – haemorrhoid cream.
Bethan swears by the tightening cream, used to treat piles, under her eyes to stave off the tell-tale signs of partying.
The cream is used by women across the world as a secret weapon to tighten the skin around the eyes – and Bethan is also a fan.
She said on the first episode of the new series of the reality contest, screened tonight: “I go out and party a lot and my secret is piles cream.
“You’ll all be using this.”
Bethan, who works as a sales assistant for Topshop at their Trafford Centre store, sailed through to the next round of the popular contest which sees wannabe models compete each week with the aim of winning a top modelling contract.
Contestants were whittled down from 15 to 12 girls after strutting the catwalk for Cosmopolitan magazine.
Next week’s show will see the girls move into a posh penthouse suite in a London apartment block and pose for their first photo-shoot on the show judged by former Strictly Come Dancing winner model mum Abbey Clancy , Britain’s first male `super model` Paul Sculfor and fashion guru Hilary Alexander and top photographer Nicky Johnston.
And Bethan has promised that “fireworks” are ahead.
Moston-raised Bethan is hoping to one day to model for the fashion retailer Topshop instead of standing behind the till.
The would-be-models will take on weekly challenges, meet experts and celebrities from the fashion and entertainment industry and each week one or more girls are eliminated from the competition.
Bethan, whose idols are supermodels Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid, previously told us: “I have wanted to model for such a long time and it is a dream come true.
“When I walked that catwalk in the first episode it felt so good, I loved it.
“I would love to model for Topshop one day. That’s where all my friends and all my age group shop.
“Instead of being behind the till it would be great to model for them.”
Bethan, who lives in Oldham with her parents, younger sister and her dog, Rosie, says she gets her looks from her great grandfather who is Cantonese, her great grandmother who is Mexican, her grandmother who is Belizean and her grandfather who is Irish.
The next episode of Britain’s Next Top Model will be screened on Lifetime at 9pm on Thursday.
